I have been currently working on a commission for a client of mines. His concept is to have a woman, preferrably resemble Kim Kardashian, to hold three children of different ethnicites, an African, Chinese, and an Indian boy in their respectve garments. I have done as much research as I could throughout. She also have half of her body as roots that is growing on top of the globe. Also hair as roots, that has the word Mothership diamond crusted plus an actual mothership with a spaceship on top radiating from above. Kind of lofty in my opinion, but getting the job done. On the next step towards adding lighting/values. Thanks.

@Durrell-Odom Mothership is a very interesting piece. Can't wait to see it in colors. What are you planning for the background?
-
@theprairiefox thanks. Most likely outer space or whatever the client needs. Hopefully nothing super elaborate.
-
@Durrell-Odom I was thinking you might be going that way... I was also thinking that if you could get it to be a light value it would make the whole image pop. You might think about a sun or something bright in the back? It would silhouette the figures and make the come out. The other option would be to lighten the values on your figures/earth and keep the background dark? Just some thoughts.
-
@theprairiefox sounds like a good idea. But my image is actually lighter than what it is. I saved it on greyscale, so it made it darker. Here's where I'm at right now.

That definitely reads better.
