Hi everyone, I am brand new and working on the second course in the Foundations series. I’m tackling the final assignment where we are given a bedroom on a grid, and we need to draw it in two point perspective. I am a little lost about how to set up the grid to work on vs. the perspective planes. If anyone can share a picture of how they did theirs, it would help me understand the gap I am missing. @Laura-Hunt Hey! I finished this course a few weeks ago, so hopefully it's still fresh in my mind. I don't have a good picture to share of what I did, but I will try to explain it the way I understood it. I believe that the grid we were given with the bedroom is just for referencing sizes. It doesn't have to be drawn with your perspective grid. I think it's just there so you can know how big things should be compared to each other. Let me know if that helps!
@ambria ok thank you. I’m very new to this so I am feeling a little lost about how to apply what was taught in the course to the final assignment. I’m not sure I understand how to use the two point perspective in this case.
@Laura-Hunt What I did, was I first drew my horizon line. Then I made my vanishing points on the horizon line. I drew them at the edges of my paper because I didn't have too much space to work with and you usually don't want the vanishing points in the actual frame of your picture if that makes sense. Then I just used a ruler to draw some light lines going in all direction from both vanishing points. Then I used my ruler again to draw a box around where I wanted my drawing to be framed on my paper. Then I just used the lines to get the perspective of the things in the room right.

@Laura-Hunt One small note on the image posted: In two point perspective all of the vertical lines for real rectangular objects need to run straight up and down(90 deg relative to the horizon line) ( the image appears to have verticals at an angle, as in three point perspective, unless in real life those verticals were meant to be at angles )
Also to my eye, some of those horizontal lines appear parallel, suggesting they are not converging to a common vanishing point. It might be helpful to adjust the image to show your intended horizon line and left and right vanishing points, for feedback purposes on the forum.
