RE: working on values
I too need to work on values, i now find myself asking the question "have i been brave enough with the values" when adding colour to a piece now. And by that i mean could i make the darks darker/lights lighter?? Whats great with digital is that you can play with that and not have to start from scratch like you do in Traditional lol
Just be 'Brave' try things out and see what you like the looks of.... oh and take breaks! If you get to that point again where you stare at it too long, maybe its time for something else (in my case, its time for bed)
I'm super proud of the lighting on this illustration as it was a real step out of my comport zone! But alas....The scanner TRASHED it :( and sadly i don't have a reliable art program to adjust the levels (nor a up to date enough laptop to get one).
I will how ever be getting it professionally scanned soon, so hopfully i can share that one at some point ^_^ That being said, i would appreciate peoples thoughts, any constrictive critique will always be welcomed!
RE: Would you critique my octopus? :)
What a stunning use of watercolour and pencil (I assume) I confess i'm a little jealous of your skill lol I hope you don't mind me keeping a close eye on you so that i may learn something from you (i too am a colour pencil artist).
The only thing i have to say at this point is more of a tip really, I don't know if you are finished with the sky or not? Sadly the scan has made the pencil marks quite clear (for me at least) as scanners do. I use i tiny bit of white spirit on a paint brush to blend big areas like sky, especially if there isn't many layers of colour in an area.
(i hope that made sense?)
RE: Work after watching some videos. Critiques are most appreciated :)
I won't say i'm an expert in Anthro, but it is were i feel the most comfortable.
Your mix of human/pug is perfectly done, showing your understanding of both Pug and human anatomy, i for one think you did an amazing job!
RE: Just Finished this one!
My only Critique would be the horns, at first i thought it was apart of a forth dragon behind the other three, it wasn't until i looked closer that i realized that they were horns for the orange dino. I loved the expressions on these fells though, made me smile ^_^
