Totally Noob Photoshop Question
-
Hey, y'all! I am just learning Photoshop and need some help. When I use a brush that is a texture or something other than a round point, it shows up with that texture (I'm certain you already know this. see photo), which annoys me and blocks my view. Is there a way to use the non-round brushes and not see that? It seems like @Will-Terry mentioned how to do it in one of his videos, but now I can't locate it. Thanks so much for your help!!

Out of curiosity, are you zoomed in very far? That could be why it's pixelated.
If not, go to Window>Brush Settings and check to see if you have scattering checked.
-
@lpetiti that picture is zoomed in just to show the detail. My ultimate goal would be to not have the icon (?) showing while using different brushes. Thanks, I will check on the scattering.
-
@Pinky I thought that might be the case with zooming. I asked, because I teach high school and so many students get confused about why their brush work isn't smooth, only for me to tell them they don't need to zoom in to the pixel level , but thought I'd ask to be sure.

@Pinky go to edit > preferences > cursors from there you can pick what you want the cursor to look like.
-
@Chip-Valecek That's cool. I didn't realize you could do that!
You can also press caps lock and it will minimize it to a small crosshairs icon.

@Chip-Valecek Thank you SO MUCH!!

@TessaW Also good to know -- thanks!
