Here is my completed piece, I wanted to do something also in the graphic novel/comic style, and as well as incorporate a hint of the "rubber hose" style of cartoons for fun! I'm nervous posting, but I really want to try get more pieces in my portfolio this year. :' )

Inking Question
Hello! It's been quite awhile since I've posted here, but I was taking the inking class and practicing on the printouts provided. I tried 2 versions of the same drawing, one done with technical pens and one with a brush pen. I like both for different reasons but wanted some feedback if possible! :' )

RE: Need advice on what to put on my portfolio website! Pretty please?
@rcartwright Yes! I am currently going through and watching all of their videos. I've downloaded the sheet it comes with and plan on going through my work and seeing exactly what I need.

RE: Composition help...
I have to agree, D is the best one in my opinion! The low angle with all the plants and grass with the characters has a really nice calming feeling, like walking home right after a sunset; I can almost hear the crickets!

@renske-d Ah, I'm glad that the changes are working! I think that's what I'm going to focus on right now, getting more work in my portfolio, especially more narrative pieces, since I feel I'm lacking a little in that department. Thank you so much again for the advice!

Previous Monthly Prompts
Hello! I really enjoyed the prompt for the contest this month, and I was wondering if there was a place to review all the past prompts? I'm looking for more ideas to fill out my portfolio with new work and thought all the prompts on here would be awesome to see, but I was not sure if I'd have to search manually for them all in the forums or if there was actually a place that lists all the old one.
Thanks in advance!

RE: Inking Question
@deborah-Haagenson Thank you! I have also tried dip ink, though not recently; I think I was using the wrong paper because the nib kept scratching through the paper. But I think I'd like to try and combine the two styles if possible! (I have way too many pens I gotta use them!)

RE: Inking Question
Thank you everyone! Yes, the brush pen is quite difficult to work with, but I really enjoy that expressiveness too; I haven't really thought of combining the two before though! Perhaps in certain areas tighter areas I can use the technical pen and then go over it with the brush pen. I like the tech. pens because their ease of control and speed, but the expressive lines I get with brush pen are just so fun.
This just means more practicing and experimenting, thank you!

RE: WIP Nature Illustration - please crit
Hello! I really love the muted colors, as well as the combination of lines and painting, but as far as my critique would go, I did a quick draw over as far as placement/composition is concerned. I felt that the tail of the bottom right bird was too close to the edge of the image, so I drew the bird in a different position and added a bit of a tree detail to keep the viewer's eye in the image instead of letting trail off. I understand if that's a lot of work you don't want to do, I understand!
