RE: Adobe Portfolio - Search Settings/ Google search
@KariBu How long is it that you activated your website? Maybe it is still to early, google and all the search engines need more time...

RE: Character design sketch critiques?
@powsupermum I would try to have the main character in all body poses in the same "size", like the cat from behind is much bigger than the cat to her left or the cat above her facing us or the head of the lying cat smaller than of the cat standing beside her. Also the right cat looks smaller and wider. I think than it would better. I Like the name and also the bigger stand alone face.

RE: Adobe Portfolio - Search Settings/ Google search
@KariBu Hi Karin, I also use Adobe Protfolio for my website, but I bought a domain name, so that my name doesn't have the myportfolio part. I don't think it is the reason why you can't be find. I tried to google you and I didn't get any result for your website.
Did you set up the settings right?

There is this image in the help site---I have many meta words there, My name as Website title, than I also have both boxes checked (allow search... and automaticly submit...) -
RE: Separate Instagram Accounts?
@AnthonyWheeler I looked at your IG account and your all work fits together, nicely connected...I don't think you would ever need second accound, because your style is similiar and it looks like one work.
-
RE: Separate Instagram Accounts?
@K-Flagg Yeah I have different email adresses for it, but all 3 accounts are connected, because I made the new accounts while being logged in in my first account. Now I can easily change where I am, only longer holding click on my profile picture and than I can chose to wich profile to change.
-
RE: Separate Instagram Accounts?
I have three instragram accounts, because the input doesn't fit together.
- Children's book illustrations
- Realistic illustrations, mostly fanart also photo collages
- For my shop, products, vectors I do and am selling and have nothing to do with my other freelance illustrator work
I always think, what if publisher/editors go to an IG account to look there and see lot of manga/fanart and inbetween some children's book illustration (they are looking for), I think they would like more clear IG account to look at.
I personally also like more accounts, where I see mostly the things, same type of art, for which I did the subscription. I am not that interested in other stuff. I mean if somebody posts here and there something different, than I am OK with it. The same goes for stories.

RE: Ye Ye the Yeti and his home... contest WIP
@mag It is awesome, love the yeti character, it is innovative and has a "real" character...I love the cute face and it has really your style, so when I saw it on IG inmidiatly I knew, this is from Mag. I love the little kid, at that age all kids look like male and female so don't let it bother you if somebody says so. I love the kid, cute posture and I think girl or boy would love to read story about this little kid with his/her friends.

RE: Workin' through unique and appealing character design
@Braden-Hallett Love all 4, you can see their personalities.
-
RE: looking for feedback on my yeti entry
@Elisa-Miko-Price Maybe you could move the text "yeti" little bit right down together with the head, that it isn't so symetrical
Nice design -
RE: Workin' through unique and appealing character design
@Braden-Hallett said in Workin' through unique and appealing character design:
'unique and appealing character design' (I know there was a sharing thread, but I have no idea where it is).
I'm doing Hansel and Gretel instead of Beauty and the Beast (because I am NOT a fan)OMG I am at the course too and didn't want to do the assignments, because I am NOT a fan of Beauty and the Beast too...why didn't I also came with the idea to draw soemthing different.
Love your sketches of all the characters, looking to see more Braden. -
RE: Yeti WIP naughty
@Meg-Clayburn Yeah I am looking little bit from above on him, I used the feet like they use for character presentation from the SVS class "Breathing Life into your Character Designs", see Image from that class. But I will yet work on the pose better, now it still isn't much 3/4 view.
-
RE: Yeti WIP naughty
@Braden-Hallett Thanks Braden ...but do you think I need some "over 18" symbol on the spread?
-
Yeti WIP naughty
First I sketch this little guy...than I tried to work with different body structure, but somehow always ended with the same body type at the end. The legs and furr had to be more fitting so at the end had 5 design to chose from and decided to go with my favorite one. Next I will try to bring him in more movement and think of some story also. And also my yeti is not a nice yeti, he is more bad-mannered yeti...

RE: Freelance Illustrators Café
Hi Ness, great idea, did you thought about doing more DISCORD group rather than FB group? It is always difficult to find something in FB Group and in Discord there is also a Voice chat or screen sharing, and posting in channels and sharing much easier and you can do coworking and be in voice and talk to each other, always nice...I would join discord, but not FB anymore, I almost don't go there, only for the latest news.
But altogether thank you for your engagement and your hard work in connecting us, and as @xin-li said, I am European time so also the time difference should be considered. I am meating my illustrator friend mostly at 5pm my time, than the US friend have morning-midday at that time. -
RE: Which cover version works the best and why?
Hi @hakepe my thoughts, If I have to chose from these 3 I would chose the 3th, because the bird isn't so much in line with the lighthouse. For the 2th I like the white colored title there, but the space above feels really emty and it doesn't read clean in small.
Looks all all 3 images in small:
The bird almost disappears with the lighthouse, same line.
What about changing the composition? Take the smaller bird and mirror the lighthouse?
Than the lighthouse isn't align with the bird...it reads better than and you have also this U courve.
The composition of your kids is really nice, how the little kid looks to the older kids and is pointing to the eagle.
