So I love both of these ideas, but I am definitely partial to #2 (could be my eternal love of witches?); story telling wise I think this one could be really great. That being said, I think #1 is still worth the effort in working on, whether for the competition or just as an art piece in general. I think the idea is just too whimsical and awesome to give up.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Hello! I've been pretty absent on here recently (the hussle and bussle of life, bleh) but I have managed to get out a few new, small pieces. Below is my first rendition using my normal old method of drawing, and the second is the same piece but playing around with new gouche brushes for photoshop. Comments or feedback are always appreciated.
Sorry this reply is so late! I was unexpectedly busy these past two days... Anyways!
Thank you. The story isn't anything too exciting, just a young boy and his witchy sister getting ready to cook something up and carrying the ingredients and spellbooks needed for the 'dish'. I didn't even realize that when I drew the egg that it already looked fried up... Thank you for pointing it out! I'll have to goop it up... or find someway to show some magic was involved.
You're right. Thank you. I will admit that my weaknesses lie in enviroments and backgrounds... I was at a bit of a lose for this one... I'll work on moving that window, though i might just change where they are in the house all together.
Thank you both for your replies!
Hi everyone! I would really appreciate any feedback and opinions you could give me on this piece. At the time I had finished it I felt really good about it, but I put it away for a bit to come back with fresh eyes and something just feels... off. I'm not sure, but I would really love to hear anyone's thoughts. Thank you!
Witches are my weakness, so I love everything about this postcard! I do agree about your main character's pose though... Changing it up would help her look more lively. Then, to contrast, I actually love the fact that the cat is just so still, with his eyes all big, like he's just in shock. To me it's amusing. He's kind of got a Jiji vibe going on.
Can't wait for the finished piece!
