    • RE: Our SVS Virtual Studio 🎄DECEMBER 2020🎄

hey there I'm absolutely new here and it's great to have a spot to just post about what I'm working on.
Currently, I'm taking a brief break from original work and doing what I call fanart week, it's a week of illustrations showing my rendition of a tv show, or a movie that I'm a fan of and for this week, I chose avatar the last airbender!

I'd love to get to know more of y'all on this platform and how it works!
super grateful for this outlet :]]]

    • RE: Our SVS Virtual Studio JANUARY 2021!!!!!!

Hey everybody! been a while since I updated myself in this wonderful corner of the internet!:))
In terms of the new year, it feels kinda weird to be in it so quick,
however , it is what it is and I guess it's time to bid 2020 goodbye!
In terms of changes and plans for the new year, I'm starting the month with taking a break from all social media for a month, for many reasons, some of which I'm sure is nothing in need of explanation
I'm starting off this year with participating in #inktober52 this year and I cant wait for this challenge and all that it holds for me!
Here's my first one for the prompt "fresh"

      Hey there!
wanted to share this illustration I did for the prompt "home" for inktober52
I was inspired by the simplicity of landscapes in the Miyazaki films and didn't think about trying to replicate it but instead just tried to keep the feeling I get when I watch these films

    • RE: Inktober Book Plagerism Accusations

When I first heard of this whole thing, I honestly couldn't believe it, and honestly I was shocked in the beginning that this sort of thing could ever affect or go toward Jake Parker.
Knowing and following his work for over 4 years, my friends kept asking me if I was sad, or worried but, my response always dissapointed them because I always told em, Jake parker has always been intensely purposeful and responsible with the work he puts out , as a publisher, as an illustrator , as a podcaster and as a youtuber. I can clearly tell that this pointless outrage wont affect Jake in the slightest because at the end of the day , the internet or the public can and will say what it wants and great creatives like Jake will continue to do what they've always done , make. good. art.
And at the end of the day, that's what matters and that's what inspires me.

Also I wanted to share some work of my own too
I've been experimenting getting textures and finishes using shadows and highlights
On this particular one, I experimented trying to make different colors look fitting as either skin or some sort of bionic finish on this cyborg character.

I gotta say, I'm pretty happy with how this experiment turned out although there's loads of room for improvement!

Are there any other ways I can experiment with getting texture on skin and making colored skin tones?
      let me know!

    • RE: I think my lack of style is a problem.

Going through your work I expected a whole different situation but your work honestly surprised me, I'm not a pro at all but I can see that your work has a level of proficiency that a lot of people find difficulty getting to.
In terms of style and sticking to it, my opinion is that we are made up of many things and have many influences, it's often implied that we must pick one thing and stick to it, but honestly, I think that's not necessary
I think it's okay to have a few styles to work in, to have different ways in which we express, render and illustrate
what you see as inconsistency, I see as variation
I'm not sure of what your situation is so I can't tell you what you should or must do,
But I don't personally think you will have much trouble getting work because of using a couple different styles of which they are all appealing and interesting to me!
your work is so cool and I can totally imagine it fitting into so many areas of professional careers !

    • RE: My goodbye 2020 illustration, What do you see?

@Kayla-Groening So my initial approach with this illustration was to just visually connect 2020 and 2021 and visually differentiate the two years by making 2020 fairly descriptive and defined and making 2021 simple and undefined in terms of detail,
I was just thinking about the visual interpretation and wanted to get an idea of what people see when they look at my illustration, I wanted to leave it open ended and let people see what they see and so far so good , I've gotten a bunch of responses and none of em have been the same, and it's great to see what people think of when they visually see the two years!

    • My goodbye 2020 illustration, What do you see?

Hey there ! Just finished up this quick last minute illustration for my social media posts just as a goodbye to this rollercoaster of a year,
I've tried to incorporate a mini message of sorts into this so let me know what you think it is!

Also let me know why you like it and why you don't !
      Any tips are appreciated! Thanks!
