Re: New Slowvember Update OK. I've been working this side of my concept now all week, only to release that I like the first 3 concepts met my personal brief for my Slovember piece. Today I came across some notes I asked myself before I started the project, detailing the main idea, my purpose, etc. It was somewhat of a reality check. This is a pretty picture, but the other images conveys the message I wanted. So I think I'm ready to move on from Slovember and start on my next portfolio piece. I added some Caldecott fun after listening to 3 Point Perspective.

Thanks for the help @LauraA . The plan is to work these out and then decide which message is more clear. The first set of finishes I completed with the girl in the center or this set with the girl arriving at the glass mountain. So many decisions scrambling in my head.

@Jennyann Neat! I rather like the blue/green red combo in the lower left value study! My next favourite would be the bottom right.

@Jennyann Ok, that makes sense! As annoying as it is to have to buy a pen display (Cintiq or equivalent), I couldn't seem to make any headway with sketch strokes until I did so. And the Kyle brushes that come with Photoshop are good. I still can't make the same strokes in digital that I can with a pencil, but they're a lot closer now than with an Intuos. And with your nice sketchy style, that's going to be important. Another possibility is to scan the sketches and then adjust or fill with digital washes. I took the backgrounds class, and it's a bit more about positioning characters in perspective and dramatizing their interactions than it is about backgrounds per se. It was useful, but not exactly what I was expecting. Hope this helps!

@Braden-Hallett I agree. Head changes are a challenge. I studied the skull structure, so I can try to stay true to the main characteristics of a raven. However, when I'm drawing loose. I find myself loosing that structure.

You have a ton a ton, best to make a limit of roughly 20 (also try 20 different artists). And as others have mention have a focus, you may have one but there’s so many on the Pinterest pages, I can’t focus.

@demotlj Thanks, I'm having fun learning so much about them. I also discovered that they can mimic humans, meaning they can speak, among other things.

This is my first time making digital drawings. I don't have a tablet or a pen yet, but I do have a touch laptop. So I found this online drawing pad called sketch.io, and made these. I took the drawing animals mammal edition class, and these are some practice sketches of bears. Practice! Practice! Practice!
