Hello! Very cool to see everyone prepping for next month. Can't wait to see y'alls work
I'm committing myself to Inktober this year woo! Last year was the first I tried and I only did a few fanart pieces to go along with a topic. This year I'll be focusing on creating my own content/design choice.
I recently decided to go down the children's book illustrator path and am reaquainting myself with the elements and principles of design.
Hopefully along the way I can find a chosen style. But I'll use the coming month as a back-to basics-study so most of it will be experiments. I wrote down some notes to look at if I get stuck. Just a board of related subjects but it's been helping plan a few upcoming topics by playing mix and match
Woah! Awesome seeing everyone's work, I feel inspired!
Have yet to do today's "Roasted" but have the previous day's to share:
Happy creating!
I think #1. As Art of B said above it has a better silhouette. The poses of the characters and the bike are much more defined, whereas #2 it has more going on.
If you go with #2 perhaps have the bear look at the boy so that all our eyes are drawn to him and give a little space between him and the bear
#3 is fun but yes they are rather close to the tree
I look forward to seeing your progress, nice work
@tessaw So cute! I like the top one, if both are up in the air there's a matching gap on the floor. With one in the air and one on the acorn it gives it a variation
Love your illustrations! Haha they are very fun and nice ink work. I especially like the monster K.O.'d by a smelly sock.
Haha! Does the monster's collar say "Munch"? Hilarious touch.
I agree with Chip the only thing I wasn't certain about was the boy holding the toe/talon. I see it a bit more defined in the sketch. Perhaps adjust it so the shape is more obvious?
Amazing work! Looking forward to your progress :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_smiling_eyes:
