Sometimes you need a shoulder to cry on but other times it is time for a distraction.
Hey guys just finishing up this piece and I am wondering what you think about the values and the focal point. I think I do this to myself more often than I should where I have two focal points that are fighting for the attention. I was trying to have a triangle with the smaller butterfly and dragonfly in the background but maybe they are blending in to everything else too much. Let me know what you think, thanks
I am interested in what others do, but When I am more organized I try to spend about 25% of my art time on learning.
@Neha-Rawat Congratulations! It was so exciting to see someone win who I “recognized!” Your portfolio is beautiful and the prize is well deserved!
@Coley I decided last minute to do the showcase so wasn’t able to do the portfolio consult but I just had one in May through a local SCBWI event and it was great. Good luck!
@Gary-Wilkinson congrats! They look beautiful!
@idid looks great! All your characters are so cute. Is that traditionally done to start with?
It looks beautiful, love the composition. Good luck with finding time with art, it is a struggle!
Well this is what I ended up with. I wasn’t loving any one so figured it was time to do another idea. I really liked having the characters up close, but added more story. I am thinking of doing some additional black and white illustrations of some of the other thumbs that you guys liked that would be inside the book. Working on character continuity is something I have been working on. Thanks for the feedback!
