@evilrobot Thank you so much!
@Chip-Valecek Thank you for the welcome! And oooh good point - I was wondering how to get the air guitar expression to come through better. I think you're suggestion will do the trick!
@natiwata I hadn't even thought about that but your suggestion makes so much sense. I can definitely see how it flows from the main character to the other figures better. Thank you so much for the suggestion!
@Russ-Van-Dine Good point - I hadn't even thought about ages really. Now I will definitely make sure to pay attention to that when I do the lineart! Thanks!
I am a self-taught free-lance artist out of the Southeast US. As a child, my parents supported my love and talents in drawing and illustration, but discouraged me from pursuing it as a career. Instead, I studied medicine and anatomy in College, pursuing a career as a medical provider. My fascination with the human body and spirit has kept my love of drawing alive, however. Now, in my young adulthood, I have begun trying to teach myself traditional and digital painting in my free time.

June 3rd Thursday
Hello! I am new to SVS and wanted to start a sketch for my first 3rd Thursday Comp. My idea right now is a little ballerina who would rather rock out on her air guitar. I just started on the rough sketch composition, but one of the first things I've learned from SVS videos has been to make sure my composition is right before I get too attached to anything. I would love some input on how to make it better! Thank you guys so much!
PS: I know the hands are not there - I just squiggled them in really fast.
"Central Park" (help needed)
Hello SVS Community!
This is my first post here. I am a self-taught artist looking for some help with this painting! This particular piece is an abstract acrylic painting of NYC from the view of Central Park. At first it was just the landscape, but it was suggested I add some figures to give the piece a "story". I am very new to figure painting, however. Due to the abstract nature of the piece, I wanted more the impression or silhouette of figures but not too much detail. Something is wrong with the color and/or value, but I have never taken a class or lesson in art and painting so I don't have the technical knowledge to recognize what. If anyone can help me identify the problem and find a solution to give the piece more harmony, I would greatly appreciate it. Feel free to digitally draw/color on the image if that helps you show me what to fix! Thank you all!
Problem with sound on SVS lessons?
I'm sorry to clog the forum with this, but was wondering if anyone had had the same problem: Until 2 days ago I could listen to SVS lessons fine. Now, for some reason, I can hear the music of the intro jingle, but no sound when the actual lesson starts. Same problem using chrome, mozilla, and EE. Has anyone had this problem before/does anyone know a solution for it?
