Thanks for the feedback, always great to hear how someone initially sees your work.
I over estimated my free time and falling behind.
Only line art so far for the next one.
Hi guys, feel this is a great place to get feedback so I'll be posting my Childhood week picture here.
As my previous post you will see I normally draw robots (or if you follow me on Instagram then skulls too)
So these pieces are a bit out my comfort zone.
All feed bac![alt text](image url)k is very much appreciated, especially regarding the colour and shading.
I wouldn't worry too much about jumping about classes, I was the exact same but seemed to settle after I had had a wee look at most of them
I really like your style and palette choice.
I do feel some things look quite flat, like the scarf.
Also the eyes look different from the rest of the art work, this may be a design choice but it stands out (think they would look really nice if it was animation)
But over all I really like it and would love to see more (background, characters)
Sorry my feedback is a bit rubbish, I have never done it until joining this forums and feel a bit out my depth sometimes.
@nessillustration his name is Sage Francis, amazing lyrics.
I agree that you need to just go for it!
I'm self taught so I do sometimes lack confidence and I have told my self I have a year to get better before I actively go looking for work/commission (I'm only looking for small things).
One night I had a wee glass of wine and I decided to send some art work my favourite rapper and I actually got work from him!
This lead onto 5 other American(I'm from scotland) rappers asking me to do work (currently working on one now).
Guess it comes down to....You don't ask, you don't get.
Hello, the first page is really good and has a nice style, I really like the back grounds and how it's very faint looking (I'm sure there is a name for it but I'm self taught ).
I also feel the level of detail and the characters positioning is spot on.
But I feel that this is all missing on the second page, even from panel to panel the style changes.....for example the way you do the hair changes.
If you could do the second page like the first I think you may be on to something very nice indeed.
Also I'm new here so not sure of the rules but I'm happy seeing all work in progress and look forward to it.
Well if it's some way for me to have a portfolio then I'm all in, never had one.
Sounds like a great idea that you might be able to get members work into people who are looking to hire.
I have only been here a few weeks but some.ofnthe work is phenomenal.
I used to worry I never had a style but I do think I finally found it, it's mostly very rough sketching and I let the inking find the details, going in with a finer line to draw lines in places so it looks like I know what I'm doing.
@jason-kilthau thanks for the feedback, I used to draw everything and spent loads of them working out "how it all worked" but somewhere along the line I decided to just go with what looks/feels fun to draw.
I'm also currently working on a wee web comic and did feel I needed to explain it in that, so (if I ever do get round to finishing it) that will have my made up science in it too
