I'm working on this piece for digital illustration class (which my professor gave me free reign what I was allowed to do). I've lately been inspired by Alphonse Mucha and had to try that style out.
If anyone has thought about it, I'd love to know.

RE: Submitted, but welcoming feedback & critique
@Chip-Valecek
Thanks! You're definitely right about the tones looking the same. I tried fading the background out, but then it made my subjects (robots and sword) look very cut & pasted onto the landscape.This was my first pass on the background problem. I think I'll take more advantage of masking and make it fade more.

RE: Ben's WIPs
Here's how it's looking right now. I'm using digital brushes to go over some traditional inks I made earlier. Any thoughts on color? Anything I can do to make it better?

Dance event poster (looking for feedback)
Hi! I'm making a poster for a club I'm a part of.
Care to give any thoughts on the design so far? -
RE: Ben's WIPs
So after a little bit more rendering and some tweaks, I have finished the illustration.
Obviously there are things that can be improved, but I'm at the point where it'd be better to apply my learnings to the next project rather than dwell on this one any longer.
If you have any more critique, I'd still love to hear!I'll be sure to continue posting my WIPs here. You feedback has been helpful and encouraging!

RE: Character studies
This girl is adorable!
I like the patterns you masked into the clothing on the first one. -
Hi. Ben Here.
Hi, I'm Ben. I recently stumbled on the svs learning site and I'm hoping to start looking into the videos there!
I've never been a part of a forum let alone read a forum because to me it has been very difficult to navigate. Perhaps it's an acquired talent. If you have any tips, I'd love to know.
Yes, I do love to draw and I simply want to tell stories for a living. So far, illustration has been the best way for that.

Submitted, but welcoming feedback & critique
I finished my third thursday for the first time last night, and it was a wonderful experience to work on some personal work!
I'd love to hear any feedback you guys may have! (If you have any ideas of how to color this, that would be awesome. Using color/multiply layers, I didn't have much satisfaction with my own work.)

@Lee-White
Thanks for the input! I'm glad you like the color! It usually isn't my strong suit.
I worked off a reference photo, but thinking of mucha's style, he probably would have tried for something that looked more natural anyways. I hope this isn't the last time i reference his work, and I'll keep his natural figures in mind next time.I'll have the piece finished in less than a week. Stay tuned!

RE: Doctor Character
I really like your design for this character!
My only qualm would be the pants don't look as rendered as the lab coat. Theres still some apparent digital brushwork that could be softened.
Feel free to disagree, I've only had a few attempts with digital painting.

RE: Dance event poster (looking for feedback)
Yea! Straight from an Old film is really close to my target!
The event is for swing dancing which originates from the 1920s and 30s.And yes! Season appropriate colors. Some reds and oranges. Warm tones. I can't wait.

RE: Drawing Characters from Different Angles- Help!
@Di07
That's coming along really well! Threatening AND cute! It's such a great shape.
I know that for me, using perspective lines on a small scale can help keep the proportions together, it may be pretty useful on that 4th box. -
RE: Ben's WIPs
Happy 4th everyone!
If I didn't have finals right about now, I'd want to make more of these.
Tell me what you think! -
