RE: Podcast recommendation request?
@xin-li Hi! For illustration I like @creative_catchup with Mel Chadwick and Natasha Newton, and āThe Good Ship Illustrationā podcast.
The āLoosen up your paintingā podcast has some interesting episodes.
For childrenās book illustration thereās a UK podcast āLibrary Girl & Book Boyā, Iām not so keen on this one but some of the interviews are good. āSens CrĆ©atifā & āIllustration: le podcastā are great if you happen to speak French!
For podcasts on creativity I like āLetters from a hopeful creativeā, āHashtag Authenticā and āGrow with Soulā on marketing for creatives.
Hope that helps! -
RE: Folktale Week!
@Pamela-Fraley Iāve never done it before but Iād like to try! I love folk & fairy tales too so sounds like a good way for me to develop characters for my portfolio. Your announcement illustration is very good, nice atmosphere!

@Gabby-Correia great idea! I like the contrast/lighting too.

RE: Ink Fairy re-draw critique requested
@djlambson thanks! With hindsight I probably shouldāve put Ellie in the right hand corner beside the light and had the fairy more on the left (the lighting doesnāt work now), itās all good learning experience though

RE: Ink Fairy Piece Re-Work
@Miriam this is great advice thanks! (Mine was one of the low contrast drawings too)

RE: Critique Arena
@Rachel-Horne same for me! I did the composition class last week and I wish Iād seen it before the deadline as it helped a lot to learn about contrast and being able to read the story from a distance!
