My first three drawings ever (from "draw everything class")

@Frost-Drive Drawing outlines is actually part of that drawing course... The student practices replicating shapes, negative space, and contour lines on different objects. At this point in the course, the student hasn't touched on form or shading, so he's not supposed to be doing you're talking about yet.
@Benjamin-M It is very clear you improve from project to project!! Your are starting to learn to draw what you see instead of what your brain thinks it sees, and that's a HUGE first step!! Good job!!

whoosp my bad guys. I haven't taken that course yet
-
@Frost-Drive Lol, that's ok. I mean your observations were on point- as the assignment was pretty much about copying outlines and your recommendation was on point too, as the following assignments are about form!

Hi Benjamin! welcome to the forum. I am intrigued : what made you start taking classes? Good job by the way, you ll see your progress in no time if you draw daily!

Thanks!

Thanks! Drawing is something I always wanted to try, but I never really knew how to get started. I discovered SVS and decided to give it a try.

@baileymvidler
Thank you!

Thanks, I appreciate it. Doing these exercises gives me a whole new appreciation for all of the art I see on a daily basis.

@Benjamin-M Great start Benjamin!

Thank you!

@Benjamin-M yeah for your first drawings these are good! Its a long old road but its just a skill, you can definately improve. In terms of drawing from the shoulder or wrist, i think i remember Jake saying he draws from the wrist, for precision. When youre drawing small images its easier, you can still get smooth/straight lines etc. You only need to be drawing from the shoulder if your working on fairly large images. Either way i wouldnt worry about any of that just yet, just keep on doing the exercises, you'll see big improvements quickly.

So excited for you! It's great to finally jump into something that you've always wanted to try! I started playing guitar a few years ago... couldn't play a chord at the beginning but now I'm able to play the songs I enjoy to a decent standard. Keep at it and enjoy the journey - every step!!
-
Congrats on taking first steps - they're often the hardest! I look forward to improving along with you.
-
@Benjamin-M These drawings are looking really cool! Can't wait to see your progression through the course. Keep up the good work!

Wow. You guys are the best. I love seeing all the encouragement you give people on their journeys. This is a great place to be, @Benjamin-M I hope you grow and thrive here.
