UK book printing advice (for a gift)
I was wondering if anyone has used an online book printing service in the UK? I am writing and illustrating a children's book for my friend for a Christmas present and am just researching sites. The best for price/book size/binding I have found is Blurb, but a lot of online reviews are terrible. Has anyone has experience with them or can recommend an alternative?
The problem seem to be finding the right size (10"x8") with the right number of pages with the right binding! It's tougher than I thought.
Thanks in advance for any advice

I used Blurb a few years ago for a one off print of a book, and I remember it was okay but not great quality. They also messed up the page order the first time and I had to contact them to get it sorted! Maybe try some local places? I've had a local place print my portfolio for me really cheap, and a local place print a run of books for a project I did with a local school which turned out well. Not sure about costs for a one off though.
The other option is to bind it yourself. Can be messy the first few times but there is definitely something charming about it, and it's what I tend to do with my dummy books!
