Little Red #1 for SCBWI challenge
-
I’ve been working on a first sketch for the SCBWI Little Red Riding Hood challenge…I’m not a member as yet so can’t actually enter, but reading the prompt I felt inspired to draw…I know that this is quite static, a quiet moment, but the moment I wanted to capture was this: as a parent when you look into your child’s eyes, tell them something really important, and hope they remember it! Also I’ve been ploughing through the Color & Light class and thought that the light coming through the window might make an interesting study. Any comments/suggestions very welcome...

@Dulcie Looking forward to see the lighting!
Did you have a reference for the mom's position? Her body shape stood out to me a bit.

Yes I found drawing the mum's body quite difficult in this position, I don't think it's quite right & suggestions welcome. This was the nearest reference I could find for her...

This is sweet. A great start. Right now the mom's right forearm is too short, you would not be able to see her rt elbow at this angle so it is making the pose a tad off. Otherwise, nicely done!

There are a lot of great reference photos here http://pose-emporium.deviantart.com/gallery/ you might find something helpful.
