Looking for critique group near me

Hey guys, I’m really needing more of a peer group to feed off of and learn via osmosis from those around me and while having this forum is nice, I’d love to add more in person time too. Not too sure where to look so I thought I’d check on here.

I’m living in London, Ontario, Canada and I know it’s a stretch (Oh, you’re from Australia? Do you know Paul?) but I thought what the heck, I’ll see if there’s anyone near here that is looking for the same thing as me.

I’ve heard Jake, Will and Lee talking about lunch gatherings and weekly critique groups and that all sounds amazing... I just need to find one!

Any help, input, advice would be welcome. Thanks gang.

There are regional Critique groups you can request to join on Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators:

Maybe one of the two Canada chapters is a good place to start? Not sure if that helps but hope you can find the right group for you.

This is a great idea, I never would have thought seriously about it if you hadn’t posted. I’m in Ontario as well, but too far from London unfortunately.

@thiskatecreates Thanks for the info! I'm in Alberta, Canada. I didn't realize there was Canadian groups. The western Canadian one is in Vancouver, way too far for me, but at least I know one exists. It's nice to know that other like minded people are around, even if they are too far away!

@nessillustration That's disappointing. I hadn't tried it yet and was hoping it was a good source. A group studio to visit once a week had been helpful to me but I don't have that now and am looking for similar.
