Personal drawing-a-day challenge
-
@twiggyt I am super impressed with your commitment to a drawing of this magnitude per day! 5 (nugget), 10 (windy), and 11 (remembrance) are my favorites. What they share in common to my eye is a greater depth of character. I can imagine and perhaps even more importantly I have more curiosity about their story. Iām looking forward to seeing more.

Hi, Susan! Thanks for your comment. That's a good way to analyze these. I hadn't thought about Nugget having more depth; she was simply the only mean guinea pig I've ever had. I agree with Windy and Rememberance, though; I was a little sad that more people didn't comment on those on my social media. Especially Windy -- I really liked that one myself.
-
@twiggyt alas! Sometimes I do miss the clarity of having a right, unanimous answer, like with an algebra equation!

Day 14: The Carrot Thief
I dislike trying to size images like this for Instagram. My drawings won't fit in their box.
-
Day 15: Bamboo
-
@twiggyt The Carrot Thief is my favorite!
-
@twiggyt I have an iPhone app called "Square" that will resize pictures for Instagram by adding a border so the main picture isn't cut off. It was either free or really cheap and works well. There are probably similar apps for Android.
-
@Eli Thank you! I really like that one, too.
@demotlj Thanks for letting me know. For a lot of the horizontally-aligned images I've been taking them into Photoshop and cutting them into two 1024x1024px images, but that one just didn't look right no matter what I did. Too small in the original dimensions, lop-sided and awkward cut in two.

I just said wow out loud to some of these
Lovely stuff ā¦ some of em I can almost feel moving, as if they've been paused in motion and will resume at any moment. I like that feeling, I've felt it before with other Artists work.
-
@sophie-lawson Really? You just made my day! Thank you! One of my professors in college told me I killed my art when I cleaned it up, so this really means a lot. I've been trying for an obscenely long time to make my work reflect the energy of the sketches.

Piigvember Day 17: Queen

I'm going to be out of town this week, so unfortunately I won't be able to continue my challenge until I get home.
That said, here is my ode to traveling:

I didn't post day 20 here, since I was out of town, but here it is:
And here is day 21, King:

Piigvember Day 22: Dancer

Piigvember Day 23: Vash
And I made this for kicks:

Day 24: Discouragement

Day 25: Santa
Well, that's the last day of Piigvember. Piigvember has helped me get comfortable working with digital pencils, so that's a good thing. I don't know if posting daily helped my social media accounts any, but I feel like it did help fill those out a little. Plus, I think it inspired at least one friend to draw every day, so that's pretty cool.
