Should I darken the dirt for more contrast? Any other suggestions? I'm working traditionally.

It's in the thread now. Thanks for your input. Hopefully next time I will be less distracted and able to spend more time on the prompt.

I did darken things up a tad more. I put it in the prompt thread already and I also gave it away to my friend so she scanned it for me at work so I could pu tit in 🙂 Moving on Sunday and don't have room to save my physical artwork.

I did darken the ground up but I hadn't seen this. Just got back on today and already put it in the prompt page. I am moving on Sunday morning so, won't be able to make anymore changes. I just got back on and missed your post. I am headin gout on a new life on Sunday morning and doing lot of prep. I did darken it up a bit but that's it for now. I think I will make a beatrix potter style painting on the road! It will be a perfect time to do it. Thanks for the idea!

Darker, more contrasted details and line-work for the foreground elements, less contrast and lighter line-work in the background.

In case it's helpful, these photos seemed so show the darkening of the foreground in a setting like yours.

I love all the mushroom people and their activities. I do think that more contrast would make them pop. I'm still learning to be better at values, but I think I'd make the trees darker, probably the soil as well. Maybe more saturated color on the people? Right now, it all looks like the same value.

It would be nice if the soil was darker, maybe even consider extending the speckle shadowing effect you have going on?
