iPad Pro - How many GBs are needed?
-
I apologize if this is answered in an earlier post. I couldn't find it in the forum. I am thinking about buying an iPad Pro 12.9 inch. I have watched a lot of tutorials and I am excited about the product. I am unsure if I should get the 64, 256, or 512 GB model. I can easily cancel out the 64GB. My choice is really between 256 or 512. I know the rule with Apple and memory is buy the most you can afford because of the enclosed device. Does anyone have experience with Procreate and memory on the iPad Pro? Does the new File App help with management and the cloud? Any good advice that can help on an educated purchase is much appreciated.

I have a 256 GB iPad, have had it for a year, and I use Procreate all of the time. I have over 100 paintings on it and have never had space or processor issues. I don’t have tons of apps on it but I do have my entire sheet music library on it (I play guitar and mandolin) as well as some work apps and I’ve only used 65 GB so far. I don’t use the file manager much so can’t speak to that.

I have a 32 gig ipad pro. It's my primary sketchbook and I haven't even used half the storage.
Bear in mind, though, that I don't keep any music or video on it. Just doodles.

My Ipad 12.9 came with 64GB I think it is enough ,although I also dont store music or videos ,but I do keep games,I do transfer my drawings back to the computer when finished to save space.

I have a 128gb and have a lot of room available after a year.
I try and by the most memory I can afford as yo never know what the future might bring.
Also, consider purchasing a refurb iPad and save yourself some money. That might makeup the difference of cost to upgrade the memory.

Thank you everyone. Good advice and feedback. Good to hear that it is handling that many paintings stored on the device.
