Here is my first attempt at an SVS contest, it had to be a bee -
@christina-brown I know what you mean. I've been recently trying to shade my illustrations by hand just to make it more organic looking and more "unique". I'm still working on it though. I don't know if I should stick with hand shading or go digital since it's less of a hassle.

Let's see if I get this posting thing right!

Hey guys, I like the images you are posting. I'm going to offer some advice to the new comers, presentation counts. This is true here in the forum and it's true in the real world even more. Take time and energy on your presentation because it can be the difference between getting a job and not getting one. In this example, I used the image by @kor I wanted to show how nice of an image that actually is (great work @Kor!) and how it's getting lost by a weak presentation.
Take good shots (or scans) of your work. You WILL need to retouch in photoshop to get rid of the background and correct for exposure and color. Give your image enough room to breath on the page. Use borders if necessary. Type your name in the lower right hand corner. That's why these contests are good for you. It forces you to up your game and make the work look as good as you can. : )
Hope this helps and may luck be on your side!
