I would change the color of the ladder to pop a little.

Trim it down a bit by the nose to remove the sniffing aspect. Tangent lol. Add a bit of brown to it, where it would be the bottom of the ruffle, same color as the trunk to give it a bit of transparency, and a little bit of blue and green (very little!) to give it an iridescent look. The boa looks like it was fun hehe

The boa was so fun. Those are silhouettes of photographs of feathers that I made into a photoshop brush based on some of what I learned in Lee's Chaos to Control class.
