Cool. It can be quite deceiving when looking at long term artists. They make it look so easy, but in reality there is a lot going on when they lay down every single stroke! Thanks for the share, Ill check it out properly at the weekend. ;-)

RE: Worthy of going into the portfolio? (update 2/27)
I like it, but it is not immediately obvious that she in half-submerged in water. Perhaps some more visual clues will help. Some floating leaves, some ripples or even some clever light rays could really help sell the piece? Anyways, I hope it helps? Regards, Rob.

RE: iPad / Procreate Questions
@Ed-O I recently bought an iPad pro 12.9, it is massive! Combined with the apple Pencil and Procreate it is quite the formidable portable sketching solution. The two things that I do not like about it are :
-
out of the box it actually does very little, expect to keep spending more money in buying apps and getting the tools that you will need to complete your work flow.
-
There is no one app that does it all. expect to spend some time and effort finding a collection of apps that do the sperate bits and pieces that you need to complete a piece. For example, I do not believe there is an easy way to create a layer in procreate with text on it. A requirement if you want to prodcue a smaller version with a watermark.
It is a really good tool, but it does have some limitations.

RE: Feedback
@AWall The only thing that is missing is the warm glow of the 'burners' within the balloon. You would be able to see some of the heat and light through the fabric. Plus, a little more on the rim of the basket and on her hair. Just an observation, I hope it helps? Regards, Rob. ;-)

RE: GEAR TALK...
@evilrobot Yep that one would certainly be a good choice for a young one just starting out. Not too expensive, can still be used for 'homework', a couple of games and some net stuff. ;-)

RE: GEAR TALK...
I have a 'fujitsu lifebook T5010' it has a swivel screen and 256 levels of pressure sensitivity, even comes with its own pen. I got mine second hand on ebay, very cheap, like less than $150 back then. They are several years old now. But more than adequate for getting started and learning a digital workflow. I guess it all comes down to budget and how much you are willing to invest? Just thought I would share, hope it helps.
