Visual Storytelling video is LIVE!

  • Hey everyone, my visual storytelling class is live now. Take a peek and let me know what you think! : )

  • Fantastic! I know what I'm doing tonight after I put my little ones to bed! WOOT!! :D

  • Over here in the UK I was about to head off to bed... I guess that plan has been delayed :)

    Cheers Lee,
    Ace

  • Guess what I'll be doing tomorrow ;)

  • I just finished the course, and I find it amazingly helpful. In fact I have learned a lot. Just finished my first assignment and will continue others later. @Lee-White Thank you so much Lee for this course.

  • Awesome! glad ya liked it! : )

  • Absolutely Wonderful!!! It was just what I needed. Thanks!

  • Lee-white thank you so much for this course! I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is the most well thought out, presented and concise art instructional video I've ever seen. I truly cannot wait for your business course.

Thank you for all the effort that went in to this course!

  • Hi There Lee, Thanx for this video. Its very inspiring and i'll surely take your advice, tips and tricks while illustrating my new book. I am working on that for a wile now, but I am struggling from a block wile sketching. Cant wait to see the magic happen on my canvas with a new view.

  • @Lee-White Also... I didn't realise I didn't like Up until you told me... thinking about it now, you're totally right. It has some amazing sequences, the character design is flawless and it's a beautiful movie, but you're right - the story isn't there.

  • @Ace-Connell About 'UP': I really like the first part. Than I lose track because in my opinion the main character Ellie dies. the idea of the journey in the flying house is fun but it would have been better if there had been only one storyline. What if Carl was the one who got ill, and than Ellie invented the flying house and took Carl on a life journey, bringing the scout as a stowaway. (Its such a pity they did not ask me at Pixar whahahah)

  • Ditto, to Ace's remarks! I can't wait to start the assignments today!! Again, thanks for always being here!!

  • @Lee-White Really looking forward to taking your class! I know these class are a labor of love...so thank you.

  • It's an incredible video like the rest! Still amazed by how much I'm learning.

  • oh i really enjoyed it, informative and practical tips in order to create better pictures.

  • Is anyone else having problems with this video? It keeps stopping every 4 to 12 seconds, loading for about the same, then starting again etc. "How to ink" and "Drawing with digital pencils" have the same issue. All other videos I've tried work fine.

Hope someone can help, this looks like a great video.

  • excellent video! I cannot wait to try out some of these assignments. Also, I loved getting to see some SVS student work featured in it. So rad.

  • @Damien-Rambacher All of the video are like that. If you're in a major city with super fast fibre broadband it probably won't be an issue, but over here in the UK it is for me too. It's because they're uploading their videos at the highest quality with the compression not suitable for streaming I'm guessing. Either that or it's the load on whatever server they're using is the issue. Obviously we're spoilt with sites like YouTube that invest billions in their servers and compression are able to deliver 1080p or even 4k video without hardly any buffering.

Try different browsers. For me, Chrome streams them better than Safari on my Mac.

  • @Lee-White I got a chance to watch both your Visual Storytelling video as well as your Brush video over the weekend and I really enjoyed them both very much.

The storytelling video does a great job of really making the illustrator think about so many things, where to place the action in your illustration, what makes a good story and character etc. I am certain I will be replaying that one over and over while working on projects (I like to keep listening to them in the background while I work).

In regards to the brush video - I had been playing around with making brushes myself recently and just by poking around in all of those settings was starting to understand what many of them do. Your video helped reinforce what I had stumbled upon and I am excited to try creating some more new custom brushes soon.

And I started trying to remember to take photos of textures that interest me where ever I go so that I might be able to use them in brush creations going forward.

Really appreciate all of the effort and detail you put into your videos, they are really great!
